Well, we made it back, poorer, more tired, and partied out!

I went on my first trip to Vegas with some friends, from Monday until today (Thursday). We stayed at New York New York and saw The Lion King and Mystere (Cirque du solei), of which were very good.

Did a lot of sightseeing, like the Belliago fountains and the lion display at the MGM. Of course gambled, and lost all our money, and enjoyed the night life.

All in all, it was fun, but I'm not a Vegas girl, I much prefer my quiet home life, though I'm glad I experienced it. If ever I were to go again I'd like to see more of the museums, art galleries, maybe the Hoover, etc. That's my scene, and I'm ticked that I didn't win a thing Though that's what I get for not knowing how to play the tables.

One interesting, and very sad, experience to note was when I was outside of Margaritaville, waiting for my friends to settle up, and about 20' from me a black truck ran up on the sidewalk, going about 50 MPH, hit 3 pedestrians, and kept going. I saw it all. It was chaos, all 3 were badly hurt, a women, the worst, her legs were instantly black and her head was bleeding badly. I guess they did catch him (drunk and high) and the 3 are going to be fine. That was on my first day there, kind of set an eerie tone for the rest of the trip for me.

Glad that you are back! You need to experience the glitz of the casinos once!!! I have never been to LasVegas~Atlantic City is 20 minutes from me. We used to go and make our donation!!
The accident sounds horrible. Would give me nightmares. Good to hear that the ladies will be ok and that they got the guy.

Welcome back Chantel
I'm with you I like my little town. Cities don't intrigue me to busy ... I'm stressing about going to Boston today wish this summer thing was Cape way. That must of been scary about the accident . Glad they will all be fine.

Welcome back! I'm so sorry your time in Vegas started out on a horrible note.

Vegas is a fun place, you just have to take what you can leave (I know you did), relax and walk around, there's so much to see. It's fun once in a while; for a time we were going about 6 times a year and it wasn't fun anymore. Now, it's more like 2 or 3 times.

Glad to have you back!

Kori, I think it really is all about who you go with. My friends were more into doing some of the real tourist type things, like I said, and while I liked that, we could have done that in 1 day, and then done more of the museums, maybe a Ghost town, some art galleries, and then walked the strip a bit more. The Pawn Shop was great, though.

I really need to learn how to play Black Jack; then I may not have been so disappointed in my lack of casino winnings, and may have had a bit more fun with that, too.

I did gather some ideas for the next time I go. I do plan to give it another chance.

Other than the accident sounds like you had a good time, that is what it is all about. My aunt lives in Vegas, she has always had her weekends off because they go riding almost every weekend. I don't know how the horses or the people handle that heat.
